1975 Tour Schedule n' rambling mess

fuzzytnth3's picture

Since the weather is truly naff today I am stuck in doors mopping up the rain that has for the first time ever of living here leaked in through my Living Room window, the water was bouncing off the window frame and splattered the back of one of my speakers. Not good.

Yesterday the 4th of May after 33 hours of slog at 11:03am my daughter Eilidh gave birth to a baby girl (see below). She is called Phoebe and weighs 8lbs 1 and a half ounces. Like her mother Phoebe likes sleeping... a lot.

In Between Every Line

Had a nice bit of news today, I managed to win an LP I was bidding for on eBay last night. Said LP was In Between Every Line according to the seller it has apparently only been played once, the person who was selling it reveiwed records for magazines and so I'm guessing he isn't a Roy Harper fan :).

Roy's Guitars

The new look Stormcock Community that Paul has just set up now uses a photo he took of Roy's current 2007 guitar instead of a Stormcock, which is the reason for this post.

This photo taken at De'barras in Clonakilty this summer was the only picture I had come across at one of the gigs in Roy's last tour till he gets writing some new material for a new CD... (so it could be a while before see Roy live again) that possibly showed something that identified the make of the guitar he was playing.

Guitar Tab for Nick and Roy

Since Andrew Watterson gave me a shout about the chords for Big Fat Silver Aeroplane I realised well I couldn't find a link to some of the sites that have tab for Nick and Roy's songs so I thought I would list a couple here.

Musicnaut Tab for Roy and two songs of the Harpic's

and for some of Nick's (albeit you will have to buy an interesting set of strings to get em' to work)

I was a bit mad and listened to all of Nick's offical albums in chronological order for two days which is what brought me up to 114 plays in one week. One of the days was a long one as I had to finish a 3d rendering

iTunes tips

In iTunes you can convert mp4 files and AAC files to MP3 by setting your preferences to use MP3. All you have to do then is select the tracks you want to convert to MP3 by right clicking em' and selecting the command "Convert to MP3"

Blood Songs

Having watched Nick play this twice this weekend I can say that he seems to play it (for his guitar) in a normal tuning and that it is in either the key of C or G I haven't got a guitar to hand at the mo so will suss it out and update this entry once I have messed about on my guitar to see how it works.

btw If you have got a copy of Nick's DVD "Love Is Music" then you can suss out from Glen Tilbrook's rendition of "The Verse Time Forgot" (all time fave Nick song of mine well that and "Before They Put Me in the Ground") how to play it.

Nick plays this in D but who knows if it actually is D what with his unique tuning of his strings.

From listening to the album with a "normally" tuned guitar A 440 then it's in F but playing it in F it's harder to play the fancy pants stuff Nick palys in the instrumental section.

Any road up playing it on a normal guitar these are the chords

F, C (first inversion), Dm, B flat, C plus a run on the C chord shape for the "all I ever do is dream" bit
