Dimeadozen.org is a bit-torrent site where bootlegs are shared. It contains a wide range of music, both in style and age. You'll need a bit-torrent client, there are a number of free clients available, for Windoze I can recommend uTorrent from www.utorrent.com. You'll also need decompression tools - again for Windoze FLAC and SHN (google them) will handle most of the torrents that are available. FLAC comes with its own GUI, SHN doesn't and is a pain in the arse to use, so I use a multipurpose tool called Switch which has a GUI, handles SHN, FLAC and a host of other compressed formats. I'm pretty sure it used to be freeware, but alas they're now charging for it. But at the current USD exchange rate its fairly cheap

Roy's gigs pop up there sporadically and many of the Roy gigs on the Stormcock Vines list come from Dime or its predecessor Ezytree. Nick's gigs are beginning to show up there too.

To get subscribed, visit the site and click on 'Subscribe'. It has a cap of 100,000 members so you may need to retry a couple of times before you get in. New slots are made available each day. Dime keeps a record of the amount of stuff you've downloaded and uploaded or 'seeded' - and will turf you out if your 'share ratio' ie upload vs download volumes go below 0.25. It is considered good practice to keep newly downloaded torrents connected into the site for 2-3 days so that you can help to seed other downloaders, and try to aim for a share ratio of 1.0 or above.

Feel free to give me a shout if you need any help with using the site
    cheers ee

theres amazing stuff on there, must download that bristol gig now actually...

foobar is a simple music player that has plugins for playing FLAC and SHN files. i find it the best player, all the others i've tried cut out regularly but theres been no problems with foobar. the interface can be a bit off-putting though

does anyone know if any recordings from the 2002 tour are circulating anywhere?

That sounds great! But it seems I'm late to the game and now dimeadozen.org is down. Any pointers to its replacement?

Dime is working for me, maybe they were dong maintenance when you tried. They have a cap on the number of members so you might have to try to register a few times (over a number of days) before you get in.

Just registered with Dime this evening (took a couple of attempts), and am now busily engaged in downloading a rather tasty Zep audeince bootleg from Europe '73.

I've decided that I may need new underwear after spying all of the contraband goodies I can download & listen to! :w00t:

Hi I have a vast collection of live concerts does anybody still do snailmail trading? I'd love to get hold of some more Roy and Hammill/VdGG concerts. I have no idea about this dimadozen. I am not that good on the computer, it's a wonder I got this far.
