Oh Yes ... that's one of the main reasons I'm going !! I've never seen Luka Live ( & only have one CD of his - Amsterdam ) ... but I'm well looking forward to it !!

Ah... the fist time I heard Luka he reminded me of Roy, well the guitar sound at least. Have a great time... wish I was there too :bored:

Reasonable rates on Irish ferries £59 eachway. Irishferries.com.
Sorely tempting. Can see BC emigrating there oneday. The land of beer and song.

    cannot.... afford.... to.... go.....

    (repeat until disappointed)

have a great time Chris. I have never seen Luka live either (apart from the excellent Paradiso concert on Fabchannel, now sadly defunct) but have several of his CDs. He's a very warm and engaging performer, one of the greats imo.

Hopefully he'll play a bit closer to here quite soon.

I'm with ya Pete, I'm holding on to my cash for a small trip to a German island in August :D "£59 eachway" isn't what I'd call reasonable either. The last time I went to Clon' (National Express + Ferry) I paid £33 return... from London. A little advance warning / planning goes a long way, sadly, spontaneity costs more.

Incidentally, listening to the last podcast and Nigel Mazlyn Jones "Sentinel", I was very reminded of 'Luka's sound'. Had it not been for the voice, I would have placed money on it being Luka.

Yes I agree about Mazlyn. I think it's that open D tuning that Luka is rightly fond of, and which Roy has used (one man r&r band, one for all amongst others) correct me if I'm wrong......

I'm not a guitarist, but I think you must be right. There's a link in 'the sound' of them all, and other links that connect them too. :)
