If you use Microsoft products Secunia is a site you should visit regularly.

They provide a free service, checking you are using safe versions of your major software applications and notifying you if any of them have been identified as insecure and open up your system to vulnerabilities. They then direct you to the appropriate place to download an up to date and secure version of the application. There is no charge for this service and no need to register (as I write, anyway). Probably worth selecting "Enable thorough system inspection" even though it takes a little longer.

    Take care. Be safe.

Not a promotion, ad or anything; just some advice/information that might save you a bit of work checking for updates under your own steam and - worst case scenario - could prevent a virus attack.

How do you keep Hotmail safe?

Just Google 'how to hack into a Hotmail address' and there are answers a-plenty.

Can it be done by some of the methods suggested? And if so, how do you protect against it?

I doubt any of the free sites are totally safe. I hate Yahoo more than Hotmail!
