It is sung by Roy himself ! I came across an mp3 of this quite by accident about 8 years ago. Very poor quality and clearly not a studio version. Never seen this listed in any discography. May be Roy may elaborate on this !
I should add that I cannot envisage this is sung by anyone else. Many thanks. I am amazed. Still, I would still like to know the lyrics.
Open your eyes Ingratiate, don’t scarper Open your eyes I’m the great Roy Harper My feet are firmly on the ground but my mind is off at the speed of sound White scarf and plastic beer floating through the troposphere My heart is clearwood, strong as oak. I’m not rock, not pop, not folk A rolling guitar gladiator, more bite than an alligator Open your ears Listen up, I’m sharper Open your ears To the great Roy Harper I like to have slow sections with insightful reflections of life But watch out I turn serious, thoughts become mysterious and rife At school they’d say “Now stop that Roy. What we gonna do with that Harper boy?” Only wanted to be a star, evolved into a human coup d'etat No song of mine would be complete without fast stuff to increase the heat Slightly noisy one must concede, but I won’t be happy ‘til your ears bleed This is it! This is it! The obligatory fast bit. My feet are on the ground tonight but my mind is off at the speed of light White scarf and plastic beer floating through the troposphere Open your mind Here I come running starkers Through your brain I remain Roy Harper
