I'm planning on going to this gig and I know that El Rose is coming along as well. Anyone else? I have not been back to the Half Moon for a few years, so it'll be interesting to see what it's like now. I did go there soon after the refit a few years ago and felt they'd ripped the heart out of the place, but that could all have changed now it's had time to settle in.
Me, Jane (my wife) and a few other people from the (currently unavailable) Nick messageboard, plus a whole bunch of other mates will be there. love Moth
Daughter #2 and her new husband will be there, representing the family, since Skye to Putney is a bit far for us oldies to make an evening gig. Say "Hello" to them for us. (Yes, I know it would be a quick trip if we lived in LA, but the A87 is not yet up to Freeway standards.)
Me and son Tom, although I don't know any of you, unless we recognise each other from this year's Gathering!
Mrs Dave and myself will be there, joining moths, bears, monsters and others. probably sporting a snazzy Hawkwind Doremi t-shirt, although I don't plan my clothing that far ahead.
Myself & son Nick are making the trip down from the Northwest for this. Looking forward to it. Mr Winstanley is that you? (davew)? Long time no see.
I have just heard from the Half Moon that with 170 tickets already sold, this gig is likely to sell out. I would advise that anyone planning on going does not leave it to chance that there will be tickets still available on door tomorrow. See you all there!
Awesome! Daughter #2 (Alex) reports an absolutely splendid gig, with at least 3 new converts to The Cause. More anon.
Well it WAS a sell out as expected! Hope everyone got in. Pete C, Funky, Tony if you're reading this, I will be in touch re your spare tickets - if I have your email addresses!
First time I've seen Nick, really great evening - he's one of the most engaging performers I've ever seen; wicked sense of humour and great comic timing, well paced and varied set. Not 100% crazy about his singing if I'm honest, but more than made up for by his extraordinary playing. Thought the tribute to his mum was heart stopping. Never knew two hours pass so quickly. Shame about the berk with the loud voice near the front.
It was a wonderful gig and going back to the Half Moon brought back many happy memories. I was also delighted to discover that my feet stuck to the floor at one point, which meant that I was truly back in the "Black Hole of Putney" that I remembered despite the refit. A lot of old friends were there last night and I had a wonderful time. It also served as a catalyst for something interesting that will appear in the next few days, all being well...
It was a good gig wasn't it. Both Kirk and James (manager/owner) were really enthusiastic and eager to have Nick back again soon. Fantastic to catch up with so many of you from here and the other board too.
