Guitar Tab for Nick and Roy

Since Andrew Watterson gave me a shout about the chords for Big Fat Silver Aeroplane I realised well I couldn't find a link to some of the sites that have tab for Nick and Roy's songs so I thought I would list a couple here.

Musicnaut Tab for Roy and two songs of the Harpic's

and for some of Nick's (albeit you will have to buy an interesting set of strings to get em' to work)

Rooben Tab for Harpic

Nice thing about both these sites is that they only list Nick and Roy songs plus there are no silly ads for things you don't want.

Big Fat Silver Areoplane

Had a listen with guitar in hand seems to be a normal tuning in fact.

Basically E, A chords with a run down for the "Shuffling through the sky" bit start on the open D string onto the A string finishing the run on the low E string ie the notes to pluck are D, C#, B, A E. Finishes off using a bar A chord and G chord on the last line "he's breathing, breathing" bit.

I need to listen to it a bit more carefully as I'm pretty sure there is a chord I'm missing at the "turn again Whittington" bit maybe it's A maj7 or whatever it's called A major chord with the A on the high E string added using your pinkie if you know what I mean!

I'm working at home today but it seems I'm rubbish at home working !!

sorry to disturb you at home and yes my pinkie is still flexible enough to just about reach the 5th fret although I wish I had longer fingers like we all do!

Longer fingers

I shall give it a better going over and post it on the steam driven email list most likely next week as this week is full to busting.

Your mention of wishing you had longer fingers reminded me how surprised I was when I first shook Nick's hand after a gig, as it seemed much smaller than mine. So as they say it's not size that matters it's what you do with it that counts and in Nick's case he can do a bloody lot :)

So he's got a girlfirend and a wife eh? How do you know then? I'm sure he's got lots of cosmic girlfriends who go to his gigs. I've only seen him once with his dad in Wales and he came across as a really nice friendly sociable affable cuddly (to the women) sort of thing and we had a good chat afterwards.....
