I applaud your honesty. But why shouldn't you vote for your own compositions?
Your playing has merit and shows musical intelligence. It would only have been dodgy if you'd voted yourself for Best Lyrics but you didn't, so fair do's.
And Tesco got two free plugs too! Hope you got some good tips on that day/those days.

Voting system open to abuse?
So what is to prevent multiple ballots from associates and alternative email/web sites set up on redial networks to boost one's ratings? Tesco's have now got two big signs outside their Chineham store in Basingstoke saying No Buskers allowed! So I must have made an impression all those years ago! The only tips you get are dogfood because they feel more sorry for them and the pups than for the homeless busker. I feel a song coming on.. excuse me....

Multiple Voting
Probably the inertia that some Cockers have, the lethargy of others and the sheer effort required to click the mouse a few times would be enough of a discouragement. 8-P
Like any voting system, Im sure pd would notice if a huge number of new Cockers arrived and started voting for one particular composition in all three categories. It would become obvious.
As for my voting, I'm torn between Kev Butler's Deep and Andy Roberts' Gernika. I like them both for different reasons but I'm going to listen to them all again before I decide. Given Roy's anti-war stance, I have a clear idea of which way I should vote in the spirit of The Stormcock Community but that Deep cello gets me every time.
