![]() Michael Harkin from the magazine contacted me to let us know that there is a feature on Roy at the Crawdaddy site: http://crawdaddy.wolfgangsvault.com/Article/Will-the-Real-Roy-Harper-Ple... It's aimed at the US listener, who can now start buying the records "locally" rather than importing from Roy direct in Ireland, due to the recent deal with Koch to issue the albums. There are some interesting anecdotes, particularly about Nick Drake and the way Roy worked with David Bedford. |

Excellent article: all three pages of it, with some fascinating insights. What's more, it led me to the article on Richard Farina and thence to Amazon. Another #50 to Mammon!

"I’m five songs into another record. It looks from outside like it has taken me a very long time, but I’ve had seven months off [due to illness]. And for five of those I’ve not picked the guitar up at all. It’s been a bit stop and go. Having just started again, you can’t tell where the end is going to be. It’ll be sometime next year. The songs are good, and as far as I can actually compare them with things that have gone on in the past, I think the songs are well up to scratch, but it will depend on the production of the record and how we get into producing it, and who comes in and what inspirations I have to involve people. There’s a whole slew of things that can happen between now and then that can influence how the record turns out.”"
Good to hear.
