Woo hoo, indeed

not sure if these are confirmed yet, but have a read anyway

http://www.egigs.co.uk/index.php?b=506

that's two post in a day from me which must be some kind of record.
I'll have a lie down now.

These are confirmed, along with Bristol, Aldershot, Norwich, Hazelwood House...and I've forgotten some and can't reveal the others just yet...! But it's looking good.

Obviously a bit premature, but let us know as soon as you have dates for July (I'm assuming it's festy season). My visit to the UK is looking very good for then and I'd love to be able to plan ahead!

That's amazing - Manc Academies 1, 2 *and* 3 at the same time? I knew our Nick could do some impossible things, but I thought that was beyond even him... :w00t:

Incidentally, Ms H PR, there is a place I was expecting, which hasn't appeared in the list, or your "others" list - is it likely to appear?

HarperPR
23-11-2007, 12:46 PM
He's doing some specially for you, Sherpa Boy!

If you mean digging tunnels, yes, that's being negotiated. If you mean that other place, yes, that too is pending! You know I can't say until he's given the OK - you want me fired?!

critch

you want me fired?!

No no. Tell me when the time is right so I can get tickets nos. 1 - 50.

You'll have to get no. 51 off ms PR. 1 - 49 are reserved for the wives of Papa Lazarus! :tongue_smilie:

does that mean that only born'n'bred londoners are allowed into the gig ?
how will we be tested - some sort of jellied eels, pie & mash blind checking ?

as a displaced northern type, that could be disappointing

I think we should be told !!

HarperPR
30-11-2007, 09:07 PM
I don't think so, dave! Probably wouldn't be very full if it was. Jellied eels - yuk! I certainly wouldn't go if I had to partake of those.

Dates are looking very nice for February and more still on the way - Brr-u-u-m brrum! - just a bit concerned about travelling when we're likely to be snowified...

Nick has now put out the new tour dates - and very nice they look to me. I know Critch will be very happy too!

Tickets have been on sale for some weeks now for some venues. But now's the chance for everyone to buy that Christmas gift for a loved one that they will treasure - a pair of Harpic gig tickets!:)

:wink: Other than that.....haven't you just had that axis??? (He's doing the Critch personal tour this time.) Abingdon's probably your nearest. But you can travel - come and dig the tunnels up in the 'pool!

This is terrible! all the southern dates are when I am in The Dominican Republic! The only hope is for either of the TBA on 6th & 9th March, any chance of a return to Pompey on either of these dates?

Gah! Hadn't noticed Abingdon on the list. Mebbe it wasn't there when I last looked....

Yup, we'll deffo do that one, I'm sure (barring date clashes/fire/floods etc - on Saturday so Jane'll be happy too).

Grr. That st h gig is just like soooo far away! It's got to be at least 10 minutes walk! :d

Pre-gig drinks are TBA. Let me know who's coming and we'll choose a venue!

'Leeds City Varieties' is a fantastic 'theatre gig' which I do prefer to the 'New Roscoe'. So I'll definateley be up for that one. Also London as well.
There are a few other gigs I'd like to attend. And maybe take a trip down memory lane.(Abingdon, Bristol, tba?)

Cheers, Tony.

Tony, hope to see you somewhere. Sorry didn't have more of a chance the other week to speak to you at the Half Moon. I seemed to keep seeing people I knew and saying hello briefly and then they were gone (or I was gone, or both:biggrin:). I do remember being escorted to the bar quite a lot by the management, and well, it was hard to refuse when they'd booked Nick and all...:thumbup1:

Zoo Bar? Or that bakery opposite Kaleidoscope, for a bag of chips!:D

Zoo Bar? Or that bakery opposite Kaleidoscope, for a bag of chips!:D

Myself, Fozzwick and Liam, went to the Zoo bar AND The Retro Bar before we went to see Mr Tilbrook at the Citadel... It was a bad idea when the cocktails started flowing.... It was definately "Goodbye Boy(s)" as Fozzwick had to book and bundle us both into a Taxi at the end of the night!

So yes... That sounds like a plan! There used to be place right next door though called Maloneys which would have been ok - providing we left before they put the music on! It's shut down now though - as have so many places... I blame Gordon Blair...

Hang on... I think I missed something important.... ah yes... Chips. Definately - we could even get a Wigan Kebab?

HarperPR
04-12-2007, 03:57 PM
Wigan kebab??? Should I dare ask! Any chance you getting a feature in the local prior to the Citadel gig? Plus, have you given thought to my email?

A Wigan Kebab is a pie in a barmcake (bread roll!).

I'll write something and send it in closer to the time! Hope I get another "by" line! :)

I've thought about it and I'll get on to it! :)

HarperPR

Cool beans! Might be good for us to touch base with Greg again soon? Is it Paul at the Zoo? Think so. Perhaps we could hold the aftershow there.

And I'll pass on the Wigan kebab!

critch
04-12-2007, 05:10 PM
Get in touch with them both. I'm sure they'd both be happy to hear from you!

Zoo bar would be a great place to meet after the gig.

I'm really looking forward to this one!

Dang, been so busy I've only just noticed all this activity.

St Helens, Manc and Tellytubbytunnel land all sound great to me! I shall have Harperspacecadets in tow no doubt. Thanks for the Christmas gift idea ms PR!

I'm not sure about chester! It'd be 3 gigs on the run for me - which might be a little expensive, and I'm certain that fozzwick'll kick off at that one! Even though she is a Nick fan, she's definately not as obsessive as me!

Certainly I'll be at Manchester! I'm trying to convince some people that as they can't make St H that they should go there! I think they will - as long as they can drink, which means I may be driving again.... Grr!

It's the wanderer in my soul :D

I'm waiting to see how finances are after Christmas before I decide what I do about gigs, especially with a trip home now in late March... but Manchester is tempting, damnit.

No need to apologise. :D
First priority though is the tunnels gig - I'm trying to butter up Big D (as it's his holiday week) with a trip to Liverpool and a visit to the Beatles sights therein...

critch
12-12-2007, 01:13 PM
Well I'd see you at the tunnels then! I've still not been round the beatles museum. And at present, they're concreting the last remaining green spots in the city - chevasse park, opposite the albert dock. Damn B*****ds. These civil engineers.... Well it's not their fault really (in my defence! lol!) It's the damn councils. Anyways, the whole city seems to be a building site. Liv John Moores is building a new place half way up brownlow hill, and Liv Uni is recladding all its buildings with scafolding... there's the brand new *huge* shopping centre in as I mentioned *on* chevasse park (b*****ds!) so it's shocking really at the moment....

I guess what I'm saying is just don't expect edinburgh!

scotpaulabear
12-12-2007, 01:16 PM
Hey it's cool, I've been! I loved the Tate at the docks. Been drinking at the Philharmonic, what a beautiful Victorian pub. And I haven't ferried cross the Mersey, yet...

critch
12-12-2007, 01:24 PM
You liked the tate? I went round there on Sunday with Fozzwick. I have to say, it was very nearly divorce! It was all these modern art works...

I have come to the conclusion (I'm not anti-art, just modern art!) that the reality is the artists have figured out that it isn't to do with skill or ability or vision, or insight, it's to do with money. The more obscure, hidious, graphic, etc a piece is, the more publicity it gets and the more money it sells for. That in my view isn't art!

Not really any that close on this tour for me, except maybe Aldershot. Like Paula, will have to wait a bit and see how the finances look in January.

scotpaulabear
20-12-2007, 08:29 AM
Really wanted to bring my American friend who's over to a gig (more virgin sacrifice haha), but the only one she could do now is Aldershot, and she's already got flights from Edinburgh back to Boston really early next morning :( It's a shame cos I love the West End Centre!

Sir Dim (from t'old board) is trying to talk me into Penzance and Exeter but that seems like wishful thinking :p

And should you feel like doing a little review of the gig too....! See posts elsewhere for sites to put up.

The Levellers site says more names to be added to the pre and aftershow, so is Nick gonna be one or not. He's not put in anyfink yet for 8th, and as hes friends and all you'd think theyd have him there.
