Apologies for the delay, but I promise to have ticket details posted for this gig ASAP. Unavoidable delays (that's what happens when you go with 4 weeks' notice haha)... but there soon! In the meantime, PLEASE tell everyone you know in the Central Belt to come along - please help make this gig a success

Personally ... I think the promoter's website should have a link to harperspace.com ... not your old unofficial site ... but that's just me ten pennies worth !!

It does - from his name - but point taken and made more clear, thanks

Every year I go to Edinburgh Festival for a few days.

Every year Nick goes for a gig

Every year the dates do not coincide

Darren Poyzer (with his friend Dee on bodhran - sp?) has taken the stage - he's in Mellow Mood and they are now doing a beautifully moody cover of Love Will Tear Us Apart. He's resplendant in purple shirt and orange tie, not forgetting the white hat - it's not Darren if it's hatless

Darren has said his epitaph will be what a Scottish man said to him 15 years ago: "May you never lie doon in yer own pish" Last song of his set, local singer/songwriter Amy Duncan up next...

Amy is playing keyboard (she also plays guitar) and looking really young with two braids  She's about to play a new song she wrote about learning to rely on yourself... sounds great so far...

She's moved on to guitar now - I'll be checking her out at www.myspace.com/amyduncan as I'm loving her stuff, been too long since I saw her!

I will probably blog a bit less during the main set  but will periodically update the setlist on the next post and then put up more gubbins as I can...

Setlist (up to 10:20)

No Truth Up in the Mountains
Radio Silence
Shadowlands
In Our Time
Passing Chord
Hey Bomb
Pendle's Choice (cut short)
For You (cut very short haha)
The Vampire Song
Watching the Stars
Masterpiece

9:40
So far, we've had the Mac/effects reboot halfway through Shadowlands, Nick up on a chair playing totally acoustic, D string breaking while he was up there, and a member of the crowd unsuccessfully trying to guess his password while trying to boot up the machine - good times :D But a lot of fun, and very powerful playing!

10:20
Powerful still the key word when it comes to Nick's playing tonight - a few of the lyrics have gone astray, but he is totally beating hell out of his guitar in a very good way. Much heckling, including a woman who's never seen him before but picked "For You" at random for him to play. Somehow he ended up with her holding the lyric book and him wearing Fuzzy's bifocals, but not playing it anyway :D Now there's 6 people in the ladies' toilets... you had to be there

Hi all, lost connection last night while blogging, will put the rest of the gig up on the post above when I have lunch. It was a great night with a small and perfectly formed crowd
