Caught a bit of Mike Harding's interview with him last night, and the song Summerfield Avenue, which I really liked. Has anyone heard Trespasser or any of his other stuff? I'd like to explore but am wary of anything too 'folk'. He reminds me of somebody else, can't quite bring to mind who, though. I like his take on the issue of enclosure & how the UK's attitudes to land and access differ markedly to other countries. An interesting chap.

Ive only heard him live he was supporting these http://imaginedvillage.com/ as well as playing with them,he was good quite traditional folk from what I remember. He reminded me of Billy Bragg or the Levellers in his attitude and opinons.

If your scared of folk music I would recommend trying to see the Imagined Village it certainly gives another perspective,(they did a song on Jules Holland last week you may catch on the Iplayer) but it was certainly a very moving night

The Trespasser is absolutely brilliant, and as thought-provoking as The Master.
"England in Tatters" is a track that challenges, for a start, a lot of views of "Albion", as RH does. It stands out but there is much else besides.

Uncompromising, that's what. Folk? But there's nothing wrong with that and it covers a huge area of musical geography which includes Our Roy as well.

Give it a whirl. You should be able to find samples, somewhere.

I caught The Imagined Village on Jools Holland t'other night & I've been checking out some other footage of this exciting group/collective (delete as applicable) on You Tube. I love what I've heard so far, and would like to hear more. So mny great musicians in one place!

Another brilliant album.

Benjamin Zephaniah's take on Tam Lin has to be heard, but not alongside the Fairport one (probably).

But there's a lot else beside. Lovely.

for video clips I think Myspace has a few http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=253895533 there is one of Chris Wood there.
If anyone has a chance to see them live do it, was the best gig Ive been to( besides Harpers)

Edit: Just checked Myspace and only Jools is a video now
