I just caught the beginning of a Radio 4 show today, at about 13.30, in which guests are invited on to discuss music important in their lives. Amongst todays crop was Pete Jenner, who, responding to the question whether a manager had to enjoy the music he represented, said he'd actually turned down David Bowie, after seeing him at a "mime" show, with Roy Harper and Marc Bolan, and thought he was bloody awful! (Bowie, that is!)

I wasn't previously aware Roy had appeard on the same bill as Bowie until that anecdote. Anyone else catch that snippet? Were there any other Harper mentions?

I didn't hear that, so can't add to this particular discussion. However I can reveal that I've heard David Bowie do a cover of "Highway Blues". It wasn't very good. :leaving:

The programme is called 'The Music Group' - I'm listening to it now via the listen again facility on the R4 webpages. Pete Jenner's comment about Bowie/Roy/T Rex is right at the start of the prog. I wonder if Roy remembers that show?! :w00t:
