Went to see these two last night, and a strange fusion between classical/spanish and jazz/blues was the order of the night.
Some things worked some things didnt.
John Williams was note perfect, always one of my aims in life to see this man play and he didn't disapoint, pulling off superb pieces from africa, south america and europe intersparced with some old but reworked classics from bach and other composers, like "extra time".
Etheridge was in his own right excellent, obviously nowhere near as note perfect as williams but his flippant style of jazz and blues was just as enjoyable, and he reworked some old classics too. licks to die for seemed to be his order of the night, sliding effortlessely from fret 1 to 15 and augmenting williams backing play brilliantly.
Some songs where top class some where a little rusty, some fusions worked some didnt, but overall a great night out !
