Hello folks.

I've just finished listening to all the podcasts. I enjoyed them very much. I was trying to recall where and when I first heard Roy. My teenage bedroom in Ancoats 1968? 69? was where I first heard 'You Don't Need Money' on the CBS 'rock machine' sampler. When I first saw Roy his latest album was Flat B & B and he could hit the high notes on Mcgoohan's Blues. I've been going to his concerts ever since, I've seen him dozens of times, I think he's brilliant, even when he forgets his lyrics. His concerts are amazing, from a tiny, packed out Witchwood to a huge, also packed out Festival Hall back to a tiny Band on the Wall and all points in between, his integrity is intact. I've never been dissapointed after a Roy Harper gig, I love it when he plays new songs, I love it when he plays one of the 'epics', I just love it when Roy plays live. There are some albums I haven't played for years, time for a retrospective I think. I've no idea what my favourite Roy Harper album is, he's made so many great records. Let's hope we get a new album soon, it's been far too long now, come on Roy, you know it makes sense.

Luv, Dave, xxx

Yes Jane, you're right about the actress. Those Witchwood gigs were great, even when the audience spent the night chatting in loud voices with one another. Were you there the night I stopped the show by screaming S.T.F.U. as loud as I could? It worked.

I ahve been to many gigs where that has been shouted:52: but Ive only been to the witchwood once. The three things I remember of that night-

1. we had already been queing for an hour and some were getting restless and Roy came out walked down the line smiling and said see you later. He then went across the road to the curry house took a seat in the window and proceeded to have tea whilst watching us wait.

2.Roy announced from the stage that Tracy Barlow was the barmaid.

3.It was the hottest most crowded gig I have ever been to(it was June or July in the times when we used to have a summer)

And talking of Corrie and pubs (if slightly off topic)...the actress Katherine Kelly who plays the wicked Becky and is currently working in the Rovers, is from Barnsley and for a time she was a real barmaid there. Wonder if she ever pulled one for bigchris?:)
