News of the Stormcock reissue and a rise in the Aussie Dollar prompted me to seek out Science Friction and place an order to replace my scratchy old vinyl edition. I've been back to the "shop" several times more in the past few months as I slowly replace other LP editions and catch up on those that passed me by. Actually, I'd never heard anything past Bullinamingvase!

So, now I'm currently rediscovering Roy Harper after a hiatus of 20 years (or more) (truthfully MORE) and hooking up with this website is part of that process. PD's podcasts are a great listen and have certainly whetted my appetite for more purchases from the Roy Store. But you know how it is..."she who must be obeyed" casts a watchful eye over the monthly Visa statement and seems to think any transaction involving the conversion of AUD to USD or GBP is an unnecessary extravagance on my part. Discretion and timing are everything! Luckily, Fathers' Day will soon provide a handy "excuse" for another on-line purchase..:thumbup1:.

Meanwhile, if anyone cares to point me in the direction of the newsletter that deals with the things wot grapes grow on (the plural of a 4 letter word starting with V and ending in E with an "IN" in the middle)...I'd be much obliged.

Hello Ironman, there's a couple of Harper Cd's in a store on Swanston, just down from La Trobe, left hand side, heading towards Flinders. One is the Science Friction release of Valentine, and the other one you wont find in too many places. See my most recent past posts for details.

Real Groovy Records in Auckland have quite a bit of Harper stuff online too, and their delivery department is prompt and efficient. The Sound Lounge in Kerikeri (NZ) had Lifemask, The Green Man and The Unknown Soldier when I last looked too. It's a way off from here, but they're closing down so maybe you could pick them up discounted?

It's a bit cold here isn't it?, I hear the sun is due to make an appearance on Tuesday. I'm in Balaclava at present, taking the occassional trip out to the Dandenongs for the sake of nostalgia (camped out there in 1994). Kookaburras, Cockies, Magpies and Mountain Ash...wonderful.

If I interpret that correctly, TM has given you an excellent few tips there, nicely done :)
