Well, seeing as we are nearly in October the Twelfth, I thought I'd give this track a play on the iPod. It's always stopped me doing whatever it was I was doing when I have played it, one of those songs I just have to listen to, properly.

Go on, pull out your copy of Sophisticated Beggar and give it a 'spin' and as you do so, consider that the song is over 40 years old now. (How frightening is that! :w00t:).

"How many gods do you think there can be?..."

Why are you frightened of time or getting older? It's all an illusion isn't
it ?

aw :nopity:

My grey hairs aren't an illusion .

No, the frightening part is how fast time flies, accelerating all the time it would seem.

Amen, brother. It's scary how many of my fave albums are well into their 20-something years... aren't *I* still 20-something? :blushing:

Oh, Trav, you're still a good-looking-Robert-Plant-kinda-guy though.:blushing:

As Mr Harper (Snr) said, time doesn't pass, it flies.

And it does seem to fly ever faster the older you get.

And talking of which, only 73 shopping days til Christmas! :D

"And then one day you find ten years have got behind you, no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun."

This has happened twice to me now!

Just turned 49.

As kids, we all envied adults.

As an adult, I refuse to envy my childhood. I'm bigger, smarter, and stronger! I take care of myself, and clean up my own messes.

I probably have this perspective because I have no kids of my own ("that I know of...").

I loved having lunch occasionally with my DAD (when he was alive) and his fellow ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out).

WARNING: Dueling Infirmities can lead to loss of appetite!

"My knees are shot."
"I'm constipated. And I have to pee."
"I can't eat this. I have high blood pressure. Pass the salt."
"I just had my prostate examined. They lost the biopsy sample, and now I have blood in my urine."
"My wife's got alzheimers."
"What'd you say. I need a new battery for my hearing aid."
"Does this mole look cancerous?"

Sorry, lost track. (I was following the traffic ahead).

Good idea. Four days late, but I'll give it a listen, T'man!
