I posted this to the original stormcock email list ... but just in case anyone is ONLY using this interface :
Hi,
As I have mentioned before, I love the music of James Varda and have bought all
his CD's - all two of them !! btw I still highly recommend James's first CD (
Hunger ) that is available from http://www.jamesvarda.com/shop.html (https://webmail.netscalibur.co.uk/horde/util/go.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jamesvarda.com%2Fshop. html&Horde=035a196ae1b88c2b045b655fb98dcbdf) for a
bargain price of less than 8 quid
Anyway, as he's only released 2 CD's ... and he doesn't play live very often ...
I'm desperate to get hold of any bootlegs that people may have of him. i.e. in
1988 did any of the folk bootlegging Roy's gigs actually press record on their
tape (?) recorders and get James's support act ?
If anyone does have any extra material for James .. then I'd love to get a copy
... either as a stormcock vine or just a copy posted/emailed to me. So if you
have any stuff, then please get in touch ... off-cock if you want to keep stum
( iam@bigchris.co.uk ) and I'll sort you out with either blank CD's ( or
cassette's if that's what they are on ) or perhaps I could swap you for some
Roy stuff that I know you won't ( or you are pretty unlikely ) to have.
Finally, this is a link to an interview with james; where he mentions Roy a
couple of times : http://www.triste.co.uk/jamesvarda.htm (https://webmail.netscalibur.co.uk/horde/util/go.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.triste.co.uk%2Fjamesva rda.htm&Horde=035a196ae1b88c2b045b655fb98dcbdf)
Cheers,
Chris.
