Any offers for generic posters/flyers?:biggrin::wink:
i have one done for a specific date already... ;)
it can be redone for specific venues, and if i get around to it over the winter, i can add all the tour dates onto it...
sample attatched but dummy name in cos its for one of the unnanounced dates....
do have colour version as well for web...
havnt yet obviously got one with all dates on, cos, well, all the dates arnt out... with what is looking like an awful lot of dates, it will be a squeeze.. wonder if its worth doing one for each region.. lol..
but anyway.. theres one there ready if its needed for specific venues...
(and ignore the fact that a few bits arnt lined up right.. they are when the venue it is done for are in there)

Well done!
Some questions: What size is this? Are you thinking flyer? Are these with the idea of individual promoters running off their own from original, or their being sent 100 or so of finished flyers? What would be the case for using same background but leaving box at bottom for each venue to then put in their own details, as Pete did with the posters on the last tour earlier this year? I am probably thinking more poster size on that?
If you want to email me anything:
pr@sayitnowpr.co.uk
theyre done at a high enough res to cover half a5, through to a3
erm.. the other questions.. dunno.. i have done them for one specific venue, but as i say its easy enough to replicate them for other venues.. and its easy enough to chuck full tour dates in once they are known...
blank boxes, erm, personally, it doesnt take that long to do them properly with the venue name in, and doesnt take that much extra effort, blank boxes to me look a bit like a pub band poster, or a circus or something... i think for a pub band playing different places every night its fine, for a proper tour, with 6 months notice.. seems a bit lazy to go with blank boxes.. lol... that only my op...
Anyway... that one was already done, purely for a one off gig... but if you can make use of it for other places, just holler....

Could fans download one or two for their local gigs, placing them in localities where they think they may be effective?
yup.. i got plenty of hosting space... i usually output stuff like that as print ready pdf anyway...
(yuh didnt say if you liked it.. lol)
plenty of time.. like i say this one was already done for one of the dates, so its modifiable if its wanted, or if someone designs something else then thats cool to... our job is just to spread the word... lol

Love the name. You should open a club with that name. Ought to appeal to tongue-twisters.
Actually, I like the work, and it reminds me I want something to display my appreciation of Roy and Nick's music here in America.

Good thinking, Batman! In some towns especially we could well do with a street team actually out there, on the street, handing out flyers and talking the show up...

It works to leave flyers in record stores, music stores, tourist information, pubs, the music section of newsagents, even comic book stores - and chat to staff as you do, ask if it's okay, tell them about Nick! Been doing this for years and it seems to get new people out in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
once the tour name has been decided, i will start putting them up in downloadable format for people...
so if youve not got acrobat reader, its time to get it...
all will be b&w for cost effectivity... (is that a word)
im now on the case.. :D
paula, yours will be done over next couple of days...
lb, glee i will finish over next day or so....
exeter are done...
i have a void between xmas and new year when im home,
and then in january work is completely dead cos everyone stops drinking, so if flyers are needed then scream at me...
as they are done they will be put online as full flyer and quarter flyer b&w so they can just be cheaply photofloppied
november and the first two weeks in december is never good for me..

That's great. Will try and fill your void, but I have people waiting on people...without which, I can't move. I hope to clear a lot of paperwork by Monday and have all the details for (most of) rest.
ok.. at the moment i have a right old void going on between 27th december and 30th december (with the exception of 29th)...
26th i gotta go do family stuff...
29th aparantly its my birthday and things are expected of me...
but apart from that im off work and got a nice void (joys of being in a job where you get two choices... take b/h off and get paid, work it, and get paid... so i get 3 extra days off in 2 weeks,. .:D)
if not 3rd jan-> well, erm, easter, are pretty light workloads... :D

I know that everyone wants the 38 tour to be as successful as possible for Nick. We can only do this by drawing in new people, as well as the party faithful.
Would any of you be able to lend Dim and I some help with posters, flyers and general street teaming? Obviously with 38 dates we're up against it.
We need urgently, for example, a couple of A3 COLOUR posters for at least 2/3 venues. Would anyone have means to print? Similarly, anyone able to print some flyers from Dim's PDF for some venues?
If you can (like Obama says, 'Yes, we can'!) please get in touch with me. A pair of gig tickets for help given.
Thanks.

I'm a graphic & web designer. Business is quiet at the moment, so I would be happy to do posters and flyers for free and I have access to full colour print right up to A1 (unfortunatly I don't get the printing for free).
If this is any use email me on info@boxnumberone.co.uk

Thanks! But the printing of hard copies is what we need most.
Hey people...
just an update from me cos i had dissapeared... :D
I dropped my hard drive earlier in the week and it um.. well it dont work.. lol.. yes, i did have everything backup up, but the drive containing the backups is in a machine which isnt working (wow a tech with one broken home pc who drops hard drives) so it held me up by a few days... up and running again now and back to normal...
basingstoke is just uploading now.. but with any of them talk to lynn before doing anything.... (note.. basingstoke hasnt been proofed so check it first)
http://www.dim.741.com/Sites/Pageplus/Flyers/nickflyers2008.html
hereford will be there in the morning as im now behind today and meant to be at the phoenix in half an hour and not had tea yet.. :D
******
As linn says though, its all well and good getting them made up, what is needed now is help.. all of the posters have specifically been done b&w and they photocopy excellently and look bold.. and are cheap to produce - a3 copies about 7p each at kall kwik etc so if there are people out there, near a venue, who can spare about £2 - which will produce 30 posters - and do some footwork, its all in a good cause and for the artist, we after all, in here for - ok.. some here for roy, some here for nick.. but there we go
********
i can produce a colour version of the flyer/poster, but have gone black and white for cost effectivness.. but colour can be produced on demand....

Basingstoke A-OK, Dim. Andi, look but don't touch...yet!: I now will send through and formulate action plan with the Basingstoke people, and will advise after that. As I said before, for this one you may need to just collect from them and distribute.
Yes, as Dim says, all help gratefully welcomed but PLEASE contact me first as different plans are operating with each venue. Not all venues may be on Dim's PDF, and there is a reason for that and in some towns we are already okay for help. Let me know where you are and what you could do.
Email (if you can cc second address that will help as I will get quicker):

Nick's Tour 2009
Have now entered the gigs you mentioned on Skiddle [ten I think] if you wanna check them out. Some prices and door opening times locally seem to vary but have ignored that and stuck to the £10 / £8.50 and 2000 hrs [apart from one which I will go back and change now]. Could not keep putting up different pics all the time but can also go back and re-edit if you want.
Don't think you realise that I'm not very used to all this and several times lost the promotion scripts and just have put in a basic 'Nick Harper Live' in most descriptions coz not very good at cutting copying and pasting etc. Also when trying to find another pic of Nick from the next page kept losing everything I'd just typed at least three times. Also venues had to be added in some cases which were not listed or I couldn't find them.
Will wait for your instructions re flyers/posters etc and have received copy from Dim. The College have printed a lovely glossy booklet with their forthcoming gigs in it with Nic's picture. If you want copies I can post to you if you give me a postal addy.
It has actually made me realise the enormous amount of work involved promoing a tour and good luck!
Cheers for now
Going out for a pint!

Have changed it to this year! One of those cases I think when you haven't clicked the mouse properly and as you scroll down to the next box it affects it still. I presume a lot of local community gig sites get
automatically updated from Central Studio's marketing but will check to see. What was that radio site you wanted help with, I can't find your previous email? The local radio in Basingstoke is called Kestrel which you probably knew anyway.

Thanks Dim, do you think it needs contact numbers for the venues? I can look them up later if you do.
Also when I click on your link my Firefox security add on(WOT)is rating it as dangerous. Are you hiding porn on there or is it just being stupidly paranoid

oops... id taken page template from one with support on...
can put numbers in, or web addy whichever is easiest... theres plenty of space...
im kinda going venue blind to be honest... not helped by the fact someone started referring to places by venue, then moved to towns, and has now moved to regions.. its just taken me twenty minutes to realise that totton was southampton :D
will add phone numbers or web addy, or both in the morning.. i wasnt sure which is why i put harperspace as a one size fits all...
its been one of those days... and kall kwik have been working there poor little bums off, youve no idea how many different variations of flyers and posters i made them do today for nick, and hobo jones the week before.. :D

firefox will be showing me as dangerous because of the redirect.. i dont host my domain directly... so the redirect might trigger it (ie.. it redirects from my domain to my hosting space... .. i also dont have a secure certificate...
opera reports me as fine, just says i use plain text authentication, and i have no certificate... :D
my hosts are VERY cheap.. i think they may sometimes host things that are slightly untoward... the firefox security add on is a pile of poo though.. operas inbuilt security is a lot better... :P

Was that me then, calling them different things?:blushing: I was calling Totton Totton although it is Soton but that was to differentiate between that and T Heads Soton, which is also Soton...oh, my head hurts!
If on the 3/way one you can manage web + tel no for each...? On the solo Chester one, details as I gave you - but hold onto as I am working on a possible support and if they do it they need to be given a good flag up (they have also offered help in Lpool/Chester, so keep em crossed!).
KallKwik must be giving you mates rates by now, the amount of business you're giving them! Would they care to sponsor the next tour?!:D

Dim, a suggestion/question - is there any place on these to add the harperspace web address on the ABC2 poster (or all of them if it's not there)? We were handing them out at the Classic Grand last week and I realized d'oh! that would have come in handy if people didn't already know Nick... :blushing:
