Default The last gig I went to...

Was only going to one night this week with Kings of Leon and Glasvegas at 02, but went back for second helpings: the lure of those Nashville boys was too great (even though second night meant cancelling The Script)! Go and see 'em at least once. They don't talk a lot, but boy do they look good - ha - and the songs aren't bad either. Loved Glasvegas too.

Default Ivan Drever Band

Saw them in Portree last night. Excellent - especially a pretty manic electric bassist.
The real pain was that the audience outnumbered the band, but only just. It was a pathetic turn out.

GLASTONBURY!

I wasn't planning on it, but a friendly persuader won on a late call Saturday morning and, well, since I was assured getting in was taken care of, how could I refuse!

Still en route home, but oh, what a fab couple of days. Definitely THE place to be this weekend. So many good acts.

Springsteen - awesome. For a guy nearing pensioner age, he can sure rock it. As did Tom Jones. Bon Iver - not as I'd imagined at all and definitely want to see him again.

And Blur, oh Blur...Damon was crying at the end of To The End - and so was I! Very emotional. I knew all the words to Out of Time too, even though I'm not a Blur fan! And sorry non-smokers, but Alex James with low slung guitar and cigarette in mouth did look the epitome of cool...

Caught surprise appearance from Glenn Tilbrook, with his little boy helping dad out on percussion as well...ahhh!

And Lily Allan had a fag on as well - friends thought it was OK as it was an outdoor stage, but I maintained that a stage is a 'workplace', hence smoking is illegal.

Whatever - don't forget to post your Glasto memories on GigMemories lol

My last gig? The band I play with last Sat. Does that count? -

My memories are of Alex....meeting Jon McClure (Reverend and the Makers)...thinking how much younger Bon Iver was than I'd thought...doing lots of brown-nosing and just ligging merrily The rest is probably not for public consumption!

Your friend, or Jon? He's certainly raving!

Has your friend taken you along to see the band? Definitely in my top list to see over and over. First caught them a couple of years ago at Reading, didn't know who they were, but was hooked. Seen them several times since and upcoming. I'll be stalking Jon in the Columbia lobby next week - haha! (Better not pass that on )

Three days (well, one night and two full days) of using up a fair quota of my carbon footprint hot gigging and festing. Ending up at Hop Farm for the fabbest day with a hot bunch of musos. Lovely sets from Editors, Doves, The Twang and Roger Daltrey joining Paul Weller.

That's my lot, I think - until this week anyway!
