Default The first podcast

After a long period in "pre-production" I have finally published the first podcast today (I've kept this relatively secret as I wasn't sure it would actually see the light of day initially).

Tell me what you think!

I will start by criticising myself... "Back to the Stones" is far too quiet, sorry. The actual CD is like that too, and I should have boosted the levels on there so you can hear Roy's intro properly.

I also interrupted poor Steve far too much

Nice one Paul, other than the intro to Back to the Stones a very professional job. I never managed to get a copy of Poems, Speeches, Thoughts & Doodles and so it was great to hear The Spirit Lives, any chance of maybe playing "Timelords in the Frost" at some point in the future?.

Sorry I didn't send my feedback as an mp3 but I won't be home till Saturday where I do have a mic.

Default congratulations

Nice one Paul, thoroughly enjoyed your first podcast and am looking forward to more. You're doing a great job running this show, I commend you.
One question: Since the poems, doodles, etc. 3 cd set is out of print, can it be offered on the stormcock vine?

Thanks Bill.

I'm afraid not, re "Poems..." being vined. It's still copyright material and Roy may choose to reissue it at some point. Indeed, part of my rationale for using tracks from it in the podcast is to see if enough interest can be generated to warrant a re-issue. It provides a very different view on some of the songs, but it's very hard to listen to in one sitting. Very much worth dipping in to though. Oh - and it's a single disc, not a 3-CD set. Maybe you're thinking of "An Introduction to Roy Harper"?

Song of the Ages - Roy Harper interviews with Have A Cigar on it and other things I can't remember, and I can't find my copy of Songs, Poems, & doodles or whatever it was called, but that was the one I was referring to. I have the 13 track introduction to Roy Harper, and the other somewhere, still searching for them.

Default Podding aboot!

Great stuff Paul even though I didn't have decent headphones to deserve it justice doon Library! Your office (cum drawing room?) certainly looks organised and puts me to shame. Have you got the whole house wired up like my friend with cables everwhere under floorboards going through walls etc?
Next podcast could come from the bedroom just to check you haven't got the walls covered in CD racks and give your new beloved some peace / space?
