This section is for discussion of unofficial live recordings. It's a fact that these are out there, and of widely varying quality. In the modern Internet age it's quite easy to get hold of them if you know how. We're interesting in talking about items that are not officially available in any form. The last thing any of us should want is to take away any potential sales from Roy or Nick but I have always been of the opinion that live stuff tends to increase the sale of "official" releases rather than detract from them. With that in mind, any posts encouraging the infringement of copyright or the distribution of official, licensed stuff illegally will be removed and the posters dealt with accordingly. Thanks.
Paul you say It's quite east to get them if you know how, could you let me in on how to do this Cheers SHAUN I
I refer you to the dimeadozen post, in this forum I don't go in for live stuff much but this is where I've got everything from in the last couple of years. You might need to be a bit persistent in terms of trying to register as there is a fixed limit and they prune inactive members every so often, which gives a window of opportunity for new people to register.
Youtube question Is it true I only need a webcam costing a few squid rather than buy an expensive digi-cam costing hundreds to achieve a semi-decent Youtube quality? Still think future Pods could include vids of live interviews with out much over-hassle? Even internationally. c/a :confused1:
Web cams [cont..] Going into the Webcam spec/price comparison sites there are just so many these days and ain't got a clue which would be adequate for just a Youtube transmission. My fav live webcam site is watching the surf coming in on Fistral Beach Newquay Cornwall. Memories!! c/a
Generally speaking a simple logitech webcam will do the trick and the software is OK. I have a http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-QuickCam-Pro-9000-Webcam/dp/B000T5GMJE but that's overkill really (I use it on Skype video for work from time to time). Something like http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-96...m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=0M4H0BH6X6CNGJ5TTSQ7 or http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-960-000011-QuickCam-for-Laptops/dp/B000OY9WMO/ref=pd_sim_ce_6 would do the trick. Video podcasting really isn't my thing (way too time consuming to do it properly for one thing) and I believe there would be a very limited audience for it. I prefer audio. However I'm sure there would be a ready audience for any youtube "videograms" you might care to come up with, just remember that there's a 10 minute limit.
Thankx v muchly! TVM! Will have to look up Videograms and don't quite understand the 10 min rule. c/a
Youtube has (the last time I used it anyway) a ten minute limit on uploaded videos from casual users; I think they make special arrangements with the studios and similar if they want to put longer stuff on there. Actually come to think of it I don't think google video has the same restriction - but most people use youtube.
okay Okay, got myself a Logitech Quickcam S5500 in the end for less than £40 and just working through the supplied software. Off to the Thornycroft Festival of Transport in a min. Now where's the suntan cream? c/a
Off topic I know, but I just looked up the Thornycroft festival of transport( because all my family are lorry enthusiasts)http://www.destinationbasingstoke.co.uk/?Page=EventDetails&event=7 and Im pretty sure that bus is my dads cousins.
Ha! Read your post wrongly before I left and asked the owner of the bus [Mervyn Annetts- quite high up on the committee and owns a fleet of luxury coaches business here] if he knew a relative under the internet name Jane who is related to him. I could see him really thinking about it going through his extended family! Only when I re-read your posting thought maybe you were joking as lorries related to buses as cousins! Anyway had a wonderful time but forgot to put sun cream on the back of my neck so suffering now... cheerz andi
I did mean it seriously, only my bus owner is called Simon, he owns a haulage company and retored a vintage Torneycroft in exactley those colours - but I doubt if he would know what the internet was if you asked him
