By way of an experiment I've relaxed the permissions on the main "book pages" of the site. These are the articles that appear under the categories on the left hand menu ("About Roy", "About Nick", "Links" and so on). I originally had things set up so that people were allowed to create new pages there but they had to go through an approval queue first (i.e. me). Also, that people could not edit other people's pages. I've relaxed these - pages will now show up immediately, and you are allowed to edit other people's pages. This should make things work more like a wiki and I hope it'll encourage a bit more creative input to the "knowledge base" on the site. If things get out of hand I'll turn the moderation back on. We don't seem to have much of a spam problem (yet). I get spam users signing up for the main site once or twice a week but they never post anything; I think their automatic spamming programs are confused by the fancy java text input method, which is OK by me. The forum was spammed in the early days until I made that a bit more unorthodox in terms of how you register too. Paul.
