I have added custom codes to the forums to allow you to embed video into forum posting. I currently support youtube and vimeo (the latter works similarly to youtube but allows longer videos). To use, get the ID of the video you want first off. For example, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8-cp2yb43c -- take the code off the end and put it into a post like this: HTML: That comes out as this: Same principle for vimeo.
Testing...enjoy Should be Hallucinating Light....should be on a DeBarras Live thread : HTML: or ?? c/a
You got it right on your edit - you had "&feature=related" on the end of the video ID initially. It has to just be the ID itself. This is all in the interests of security - I don't want there to be a chance of people adding random HTML into these things and have even the slightest chance of people being diverted to a nasty site!
would it be awkward to include an option in the "visible post elements" (under "thread display options") to disable this thing and just have old fashioned links to youtube?
It's a reasonable idea Shane but I don't know how to do it, technically, off the top of my head. I'll look into it... I'm sure it's something that other vbulletin users have asked for.
