Use this thread for any questions about the forthcoming forum change (see the notice at the top of the page, once you've logged in, if you haven't read it already). Q: What will happen all the existing posts and users? A: These will all be preserved. I've already done a test import of the old forum to the new software and everything was still there Q: Are we keeping the chatbox thingy? A: No, at least not on launch. It's not used much anyway. Q: Is there a lot of work to be done? A: A bit. My main challenge is hooking the forums up to the software that runs the "front" site so that users and passwords are shared between the two. This is the main delay, otherwise we'd have launched already. My other challenge is setting up the "theme" for the site, though I have made some progress on this already.
New forum software I'm sure it will be fine Paul, if your past efforts have been anything to go by  Bob
Now... Now I've been to this page I almost beginning to feel I know what the hell programmers are on about! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_release_life_cycle Xen.foro? Do they have to find a word that is unique and means nothing to register their copyright? andi ps Bez! Welcome to the machine! It's changing again! Just to keep you on your toes! http://www.avforums.com/forums/forum-news-notices/1296399-xenforo-future-avforums.html
Can you PD? Can you also make LHSF/NH/MP's Avebury's date as a Frontpage item apart from SPB's sticky? Coz I think it's going to be quite a momentously, unusual, well-attended, unique, once-in-a-lifetime, not-to-be-missed occasion? Phps after Roy's ITV thingy; if you can only have one Frontpage item at a time? andi
Andi - I admire your enthusiasm for the Avebury Rocks event - but I think your're been a "bit" OTT !!
Greetings from Cambodia. The upgrade project is still in the works. The Xen Foro software was still in beta last time I looked but getting much more stable and mature. I also have to upgrade the Drupal software (that runs the front site) since the version we are using is no longer supported, so there's a bit more work to do. I'm hoping that the new stuff will breathe some fresh life into the site and also help people manage their experience better (filtering out unwanted stuff, quick posting of pictures etc). Paul.
Lhsf? Maybe if LHSF or Charitable Events had a separate forum thread listing? Have spent ages trying to link in again; needing to extract details about Avebury Rocks for publicity purposes elsewhere. Not just sticky, but stuck in stone maybe? <Also, never heard of the Avebury Particle Accelerator from FC [via IC], until last week; and can't seem to find it anywhere on Internet; unless I buy their album / boxset?> A
