Hi all Hope this hasn't come as too much as a shock! Can we use this thread for suggestions/comments about how to improve, any bugs you've noticed, and so on? So far I've stuck with the standard Xenforo theme as it's a fairly easy on the eye combination but it'd be nice to customise things a bit more perhaps. Though having looked at a bunch of pre-written templates, most of them would give you a headache within the first 5 minutes. Cheers Paul.
Dear Paul, I think the picture is perfect! Is it possible to choose the quotation (or misquotation!) that appears with the messages you post [or does it, just noticed it has disappeared!!!]? Only one reservation: 'And if you think you're a notable member you can come and laugh at me....I don't need points and I don't want likes....'!! (tip of my tongue-in-cheek) The lord of misquotes.
Looks nice, Paul, but I couldn't get to the right page anymore by clicking on my bookmarks bar. Worked when I responded to one of the thread replies in my inbox, so I'll try updating my bookmark next.
The bookmarks will all need to change, NC, as I've changed the URL the forum lives under. Re the user titles, I'm looking into this - on the old forum I had it change according to post count... Currently looking into an issue with imported users, SHAUN I appears to have not made it over for some reason. Drop me a line at pd@stormcock.net if your account seems to have broken - ta.
... and the nice people at xenforo came up with the solution for the 30-odd users that didn't import despite it being an issue with the old forum software and not their own. Should be fixed now.
Silly titles according to user post count are back. You can stick with those or send me a message with what you'd like as a custom one if you like, obscure lyrics are most likely to succeed
Does it do questionnaire polls still? Thought a good one would be get a response on which fav tracks on M&M?
Polls are available if you create a new thread, and poll stuff should appear towards the bottom. Let me know if not - in which case it's probably a setting I'd need to switch.
Paul, can we edit posts? Or am I just too slow to figure out how? (also, can we get our old smileys back? LOL)
SPB, I was able to edit two posts so far. I think it appeared in the rectangle after posting. First Edit: Yep, there it is. "Edit" and "Delete" to the left of... was it "Report" or "Post?" The edit page appears over the center of the posts, so I can't tell... Second edit: "Edit" and "Delete" appear left of where "Report" appears in light blue for other members below the comment. (I lied. I've edited this about SIX+ times now!)
I'm not going to put all the old smilies back, sorry, there were way too many and I like the look of the new ones. Might see if there are a few more in the same style that can be added though.
Dear Big Chris, Thank you for liking my 'I don't want likes' post, above! Perfect subversion, my reputation, such as it isn't, is now in tatters! ....but not your fault, I've already been 'awarded' 6 points for nothing that I know of! I will get the hang of this forum business eventually, but I can't help thinking of 'these gladiatorial times' when I see the league table aspects of these forum programmes. With best wishes, Robin.
