As nothing more than a blatant attempt to crawl out of the Zappy Little Nappy Crappy Chappy stage of Stormcock-life, I would just like to record here, as I have many times via email, that Iain Anderson's Radio Scotland show has visited things Harper yet again, this time with a vengeance.

At about 10 past midnight, on Friday 9 November 2007, towards the end of the show that started at 10 30 op.m. on Thursday, Mr Anderson led into the complete "Same Old Rock" from our eponymous album, and then segued with "Magic Feather" from "Miracles ...".

And this less than a week after playing all of "Me and My Woman".

    Gosh, I feel proud.

    And what is more...

... the advance play list for tonight, Friday 9 November, shows that at some point in the first hour or so we will be treated to "If" from "Once".

    Such luxury.

The programme is available live online (it attracts quite a few international listeners), and as "Listen Again".

Roy Harper spotted on terrestrial TV last night! On Channel 4.
'Tis true! It provoked the rarely heard cry (in our front room anyway) of "Look, there's Roy Harper". Nobody was listening though...
They were showing Led Zep at Madison Square Gardens '73, and to be honest I knew where to look, but sure enough there he was shaking his teddy with his hanky on his head, stood in the wings behind JPJ as the band went into Misty Mountain Hop.
Do I get a point for this?

    Oh, here's another. I almost forgot. I don't suppose it's worth a point, well maybe a half!
On Sunday I attended a thoroughly enjoyable show at the M.E.N. Arena, Jeff Wayne's War Of The Worlds. It was a spectacular concert, brilliant lights and sound, a holographic Richard Burton, stunning backdrops and a 'real' Martian tripod. There was a large string section and a full rock band, one of whom was the fine guitarist Chris Spedding. Mr Spedding was of course a member of Trigger, and did his bit on Roy's HQ album.
I felt obliged to reveal this fact to the people I was with at the concert. They responded in the now time honoured reply of "Roy who...?", the heathen swine.

Answer : ROYSTON - anagram of 'story' plus 'on'.

Lateral thinking [don't cheat if you've read it already on a fag rolly paper packet] : "A man pushed his car. He stopped at a hotel and it suddenly dawned on him that he was bankrupt. Why?"

    Happy Birthday - Radio Scotland

Iain Anderson played "If" soon after midnight this morning (12 June) as a birthday greeting to His Royness.

    I smiled.

    Happy Birthday.
  13. critch

critch Aye lad, I knew you had it in you

The man was a director of a company whose creditors had arranged a meeting at the hotel. His car broke down so he was late and missed the meeting. Having failed to attend and persuade the creditors not to wind up the company, he realises that the bank will now enforce his loan guarantees leaving him bankrupt...

or maybe he was just playing monopoly.

That's a bit tame! I would have kissed his feet unwashed or not! Does he ever get paranoid with people recognising him wherever he goes? Good question to ask him in the next vidpod perhaps?
