Hello from a long time, old time Harpie. I stumbled across the forum from Harperspace. Very pleased to see he's playing northampton again, I'll be there with my gang, and my daughter is now sweet 16, a very accomplished musician herself (auditioning for the national youth orchestra this year) will be there. The only time she saw Nick was at cropredy about 8 years ago, she might appreciate him a bit more this time. That's my bit for bringing in young blood untill my 12 year old (another violinist) is ready to unleash. Thanks for having us, I'll be popping in and around again.
Hiya Lurkalot! I have very fond (if slightly hungover :blushing: ) memories of Nick's last gig at the Roadmenders in, mmm, maybe 2004 - Big Chris was there too, weren't you Chris? Loved that venue, was sorry to see it go... I seem to remember ending up in the Boston Clipper playing pool and getting hit on by a barmaid. Good times Hope you guys have a great time... (hard to believe Cropredy was so long ago too - time goes by too fast!)
Hi Scotpulabear, he did a couple at the Roadmemder, one was quite busy and the other he had a sort of lounge set up on the stage. He did a Keith Moon bit on it, (kicked it around a bit). I think that's why they don't have him anymore. The venue is still going, the Boston clipper by the way is the local whorehouse, (truly), used to go by the name 'The Criterion'. There's a decent biker pub about 20 minute walk, goes by the name of the King Billy, (I know a lot of Scots dont like the name too much) but good beer etc and usually some sort of band on a Saturday. The labour club in September then, hope to see you there, I haven't been in there since the miners strike.
WOW okay I thought the Clipper was a bit "festive" :blushing: I'll be in the States in September, so I'll have to leave you to have an amazing time there
