my first introduction to Roy Harper was as a teenager in the 80's , when my brother brought home a tape cassette with the album "Jugula" . It was nothing like I've heard before . I was hooked from the first few sounds ... and I didn't realize then that it was the beginning of a beautiful friendship... some may say "obsession" ... and that my life would never be the same. Roy's music and lyrics became a faithful companion for me in the journey of my life and I always come back to absorb more of its comfort and beauty. Sure , I listen to all kinds of diverse and progressed and sophisticated good, excellent , brilliant music... but nothing touches me so deep within the core of my soul , and so perfectly precise at the exposed tender parts of my nerve's edges as Roy's music.
