bigchris Aye lad, I knew you had it in you

I am in deed ... but alas all of my northern mates who I used to go to this gig ( or other Sheffield gigs ) with, are no longer Nick fans (!) so it'll take some amazing persuasion for them to go with me .... I need 'em for somewhere to kip !!

I've just booked a room in a hotel owned by The Church Army (?!?!) but can cancel by 12th March, so it's still not a done deal that I'll be there !!

Of Course this isn't a 2015 gig but is Nicks last for 2014 so near enough

I'm putting on Nicks final Gig for 2014 + support act on Saturday 20th December at my house in Llanymynech ( between Oswestry and Welshpool). We can only hold 50 ( 55 at a push) in the 18ft room and it has all but sold out with just 6 tickets left. This is going to be a brilliant gig up close and personal and somthing very special for Christmas. Tickets are just £10.00 and we have a charity bar for the night. If anyone wants any of these last few tickets can you please follow the link to the FB page and message me there and i'll get right back to you. All accomodation has been taken but if anyone is travelling and wants to stop over i can give you the links for a couple of b&bs within a 5 to 10 minute walk....https://www.facebook.com/theintimategigcompany?fref=ts

Fair enough, and I think they may share bookers, however as Nick is now supposed to be in Wales that night I suspect that was a misprint (see above) :D

NICK HARPER REVIEW BASINGSTOKE QMC 22/02/15

Amazing! Or amayonnaiseing, depending on your punning taste in saucy serious entertainment.... acerbic banter/ interactive wit mixing with the audience, combined with sonorous songs and explanatory altruistic preambles, which gave it credence to reinforce emphatically the message within he endeavours to communicate to the Universe at large..

The guitar was coniferous; the sound cavernous; the voice was chasm-less; the lyrics carnivorous; the banter capricious and the whole night a cornucopia of carnival-ness ...x nite all x

Nick did also mention that the annual Avebury charity spectacle will probably happen later in the year in Marlborough now due to some pagan outburst locally? Also looks like the Basingstoke QMC venue has fiscal problems to sort out and looks a bit tenuous at the moment for future gigs/open mics...

Thanks for the shout out Andi - but couldn't you just have said that I turned up and we had a nice chat, instead of insulting me ?

No again Chris sorry.. been thinking about it all day! Just that I am 6' tall [probably shrinking with age now a bit] and every time I see you and your fellow large associates you seemingly dwarf me as a minnow! Corpulence also can be metaphorically construed as 'person of great wealth' which is what I was endeavouring to import and not physically taking the piss but your mental appreciation of your taste in serious music... x

Right in an effort to try and get this thread back on to Nick (!?) - the venue for his Super Night in Marlborough on Saturday 7th March has changed and it ain't in Marlboro anymore; but is 30 mins away at http://www.roseandcrownashbury.com - they tried to spin this as been better, more intimate - which no doubt it might be; but what about the folk ( like us ) who have booked accommodation in Marlboro for the night - NOT impressed !! We have managed to cancel our B&B ( cost £10 in fees ) and have booked a room in the actual venue.
