Hello all, I've just come across a listing on Amazon for Roy's film "Made", available on DVD from August 8th. It's been produced by a company called Network who specialise in releasing stuff that might otherwise be lost. According to the blurb the Blu-Ray version is a "brand-new High Definition restoration from the original film elements". I remember recording this off the telly, early 80s I guess (probably BBC2), but the video is long gone so it's probably 30 years since I've seen it. I never expected to see it again so this is great news, and a perfectly timed Hors D'Oeuvre with the gigs coming up. As an aside Network have some great stuff on their site - Gerry Anderson's UFO, and soundtracks to the likes of "The Champions", "Department S" and "The Prisoner" to name but a few. Brilliant.
I already pre-ordered the bluray. Network are a decent company, I already have their Prisoner bluray which is wonderful and UFO is imminent as well. I've had a dodgy DVD transfer of a VHS of the film for years (that I made myself actually and distributed to the stormcock mailing list members way back when) but it'll be great to have a proper copy in high quality.
Cheers, it's good to hear Network are likely to have done a good job reproducing it, when I came across it on Amazon I imagined a dodgy VHS transfer. And I'll be keeping a look out for the UFO release, it looks fab.
