Does anybody know where I can find a copy? I've searched high and low and can't find it anywhere, help would be much appreciated.

I had trouble getting another replacement copy of this one some months ago (my son acquired my first copy!) but I'm sure I ended up getting my new copy from Quixotic Records ... try this link below or google:

    info@quixoticrecords.com

    Good luck

    Best regards ... Rainbow:)

Is that where you got yours from? And if it was, why does it say "Out of Stock" on there website?

Nick's website also says "out of stock" so maybe be worth dropping them an email to see when they are planning to get more pressed up.

Why isn't it available on Nicks site? Nick hasn't done that much, I would have thought everything would be available... :confused1: Was it not a big seller? I really like it and wish Roy had done something similar.

Nick's thoughts on Instrumental, September 2010

Bit of a delayed response, but as these are pressings Nick has to organise, he may have to wait til he has a few to do at once. Just guessing though...

Oh but this is prompted by today's (7 September) news item on Harperspace
    http://www.harperspace.com/nick-harper-news.html

It's true I've been yanking the buttons and faders in the studio and cranking up the old 'Instrumental' masters and having a bit of fun in the process. It's funny to hear a snapshot of who you were 10 years previous...at times highlighting the follies of youth and at others engendering nice little surprises. For instance after putting the levels up a little to try and match Titchy Striker (Jermaine Defoe??) or whatever his name is I could hear the points in 'Swansong' where I'm reaching for the plectrum on my knee between the picky bits - probably a very good reason I've never played that one live (since Glenn Tilbrook said I should stand up and be a man..well I did the first bit..). The most moving part of the remixing though was when I turned up 'The Whack 'n' Riddle Tree' and right at the end you can just hear my daughter Lily saying "Dada" just outside the studio door...I nearly cried.. She was 3 I think. That song is based on a game made up by the most fantastic teacher any child could wish to have - Lewis Richardson, whose idiosyncratic curriculum was based on trying to get us to think and whose view of the world still translates well nearly 40 years on...blimey. He went on to write a lovely little book called 'The Eye of the White Horse' which was a child's eye view of life in Wiltshire a few generations back, which I would swear was part of the inspiration for the poem on 'Treasure Island' called 'A Wiltshire Tale' even though I read his book after I wrote the verse.. Where was I? Oh yeah 'Whack 'n' Riddle': The bowler bowls and the batsman whacks the ball up in to the tree and tries to make it 'home' before it riddles through the branches and is caught..or not..by the hordes of eager catchers..immense laughter had by all if I remember rightly..

Keep going people! Love Harp xx

    Well, there's no shipping as such - it's a download :confused1:

    Nick's Instrumental

Yeah I've just ordered this and I'm guessing there is a download link heading my way in an e-mail ... can't see a link anywhere on the site. 'Instrumental' is possibly my favourite Nick album and I see from the details on the site that 'Riverside Revisited' is replaced by the original 'Riverside' but a couple of additional tracks on the download ... notably 'Caterpillar on a Cocoa leaf' which I vaguely remember seeing in tab format in one of the guitar mags some while back but I'm not familiar with the tune. Looking forward to hearing that one and 2010 versions of the originals. Normally I prefer a real CD rather than a download but at least my son can't nick this one!!

    Best regards ... Rainbow:)

Caterpillar was downloadable from Harperspace for ages, not sure if it's still up.

worth popping back to Nick's site as he has put up "a movie" or is it a moving picture (?) of himself ( & his twin ) in his studio ... he does warn you that it takes a while to load up ( it's still loading on my laptop at the mo ) ... but it's quite surreal to zoom around the movie even when it's not finished loading ... have a butchers and you'll see what I'm on about - http://www.harperspace.com/nick-harper-playing.html
