The Northwestern Series (the sister label to Folk Police Recordings) are releasing a CD version of my album 'Nature Recordings'. It will come housed in a handmade card box, with stunning card inserts (above) designed by Dom Cooper and dried Hydrangea petals from my garden. Strictly limited to 300 hand-numbered copies. £10 including UK delivery. More info, images, and sounds on the link below. It's released in May, but you can pre-order now via the Northwestern website. Thanks, Adam.
There's a nice write up on the label/album on Folk Radio UK: http://www.folkradio.co.uk/2012/05/the-northwestern-series/ +A
It's out! I did a little session for the local BBC to promote it too. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01jszh4 ... where I admitted to being a "Roy copyist" ! +A
Received mine today and am very impressed by the packaging. Unfortunately I will have to wait a while to hear it because my computer speakers are kaputt, as is the gear wheel on my cd player tray. A new one is on its way from Hong Kong shortly, I hope.
Personalised versions ... Happy new year people. I've done 4 personalised, seasonal versions of this now, all with unique extras (bonus disc of exclusive music, badge & poem). 3 of these are sold, but the SUMMER box is still available if anyone fancies it? The album features Steven Collins of The Owl Service and P.G. Six, and comes with handmade packaging (see pic) and this special edition has all this: Folk Radio UK described it as follows: "An incredibly well-crafted, cohesive release which deftly displays Adam’s particular gift for blending traditional psychedelic-rock and psychedelic-folk elements whilst also maintaining a thoroughly ‘modern’ aesthetic to his work". All the best, Adam.
The bonus disc will contain as-yet unrecorded solo acoustic guitar/vocal stuff. I could even be talked into doing a Harper cover ... these are personalised after all... Best, +A
Hi, This album is now available for free via bandcamp, here: http://adamleonard.bandcamp.com/ Of it, The Active Listener said: "Side Two is were the real treasure is buried though - the four part "The Eighth Tower" is an ambitious and adventurous multipart epic which recalls the spirit if not the sound of earlier masterworks by like minded non-conformists like Roy Harper's "Stormcock". It works it's way through many moods and styles in it's twenty five odd minutes, all seamlessly entwined until it unwinds itself into an almost mantric wordless vocal chant, like some pagan "Hey Jude" which is as lovely as it is hypnotic".
