Another great gig at The Cluny - I took my 17 year old son for his first taste of Nick live and he had a great time. He got into Nick around Treasure Island and has been waiting to see him ever since - his favourite songs are By My Rocket Comes Fire, Juicy Fruit Girl and he loves the version of Shine On You Crazy Diamond on Youtube so he was well satisfied with the set list, which was as follows: Two way thing Glittering Eye/The Kilty stone The Magnificent G-Seven Blood song Juicy fruit girl This is the beginning Story of my heart Treasure island Shine on you crazy diamond (with string break) Simple Breathe Dorothy Parker The field of the cloth of gold By my rocket comes fire Lost in the snow For you Also a quickly aborted attempt at 'Bela Lugosi's dead' after a discussion about Goths (possibly after Juicy Fruit Girl, not sure). We were in The Cluny 2 which is a small basement room. Three new songs from Nix (his 9th album, hence N - ix). Bought it and listened to it on the way home. On first listen it sounds excellent - strong songs, great vocals and wonderful acoustic guitar, with as it says in the tray insert 'Nothing else. Nothing, Nada, Nix'. And all the better for it! I thought Nick seemed a bit down at the end, possibly because the turnout wasn't too great, but he did nearly two and a half hours and the audience was still left wanting more. We can't wait to see him on 22 November at ARC in Stockton!
For some reason the pictures have uploaded on their sides - don't know why, they were upright before I sent them.
