TJ & Murphy have now been added to the bill as second support.

As some of you are aware, the guys opened for Nick last year at the Chester show where we also raised funds for LHSF. Great to have them on board again.

And the man known as Brian Dunn - see album credits - and a legendary character will also be there. You may well hear him before you see him, lol! He's my good pal, so hope you get to meet.

Bad news for Dead Cities fans. Unfortunately, due to one of the band having broken his collarbone they will not now be supporting. However, a top replacement is being drafted in and I will let you know once it has been confirmed.

That may be too late for the supports, Craig! Let me check stage times with the Masque's top lady Paula and I will let you know.

Critch didn't make it to the gig. One string break in mid song but for the life of me I can't recall which song.

I'll try the set list (not in order)

4 off Blood Songs (same as at Glasgow)
    Blood Songs
    Wanderer & His Shadow
    Boy Meets Planet
    Love Junky

    some off the new
    Hey Bomb
    One of the 38
    Story of my Heart

    Shadowlands
    Radio Silence
    Karmageddon
    Aeroplane
    Galaxy Song
    Song of Madness

    Treasure Island

    Evo
    Fields of Cloth of Gold

    Encore
    Building Ou Own Temple
    By My Rocket

A long set and quite different to Glasgow.

One of these days I'd love to meet Nick when I haven't had a skinful. This gig started fairly late and was quite long (unless I'm mistaken), so by the end I can hardly remember buying the CD.

But I mentioned to Nick that my wife and I had just had our first child, a daughter - the pair of us usually see Nick together and must have seen him a dozen times around the country, but the last two times I've been alone due to the pregnancy (Birkenhead Guitar Festival) and the birth.

So I wanted to tell Nick all about this, but several pints of San Miguel in the Masque hampered my efforts.

To his credit, Nick is always the gentleman. I guess he listened to my drunken ramblings ("yeah, I get Blood Songs more know I have a daughter....hic" :blushing: ) and I woke up the next day with the new CD signed on the cover, saying "see you next time" to my missus and "welcome to the world" to my daughter.

So yes, one day I'd love to speak to him from a position of sobriety :54:

Gig was superb ("I love you mad bastards"), and I'm loving the album so far (though I've yet to hear any mention of custard creams :toetap05:).

Nick, you're a star, a top man and a true gent.
