Record Store Day release: Nick Harper - 'Juicy Fruit Girl'/'There Never Was (Playground Mix)' Produced by Tchad Blake http://t.co/j6KkDrjCYR
Might be worth people asking their local record stores to order a copy in - can't count on it showing up online! Tchad Blake eh? Another name that crops up on many of my album covers... I wonder what's in store for us this time :m3:
From Nick's last mailout (today is a bit chaotic in the world - here's some good news ) Excitement is building here in Harperspace.. Vinyl release imminent! Saturday 20th April. 10" single 'Juicy Fruit Girl' b/w 'There Never Was'. I'm loving the way it sounds - and looks. You can order it at your local independent record shop. The code is: SG0113VL The independents are stocking it, but to make sure you'll need to pre-order and there aren't that many left! It seems those old decks weren't thrown out after all. This is of course part of Independent Record Store Day. An important fixture in the calender for us music makers/lovers. These are the shops that have people in them that you can talk to about what you are buying. People selling things they are actually interested in themselves. A novel concept. Tried before. Works. Music shops are dropping like flies. Music itself is slowly being relegated to shopping mall wallpaper, talent show karaoke backing and games console fluff that the kids don't expect to pay for. The independents are coming into their own again as places of refuge for the audio fancier. My local shop is a fantastic place. An Alladin's cave of audio gems presided over by a music nut who really cares. To support the day I'm doing an in-store performance there on Sunday 21st April: Sound Knowledge, Hughenden Yard, Marlborough, SN8 1LT. 01672 511106. I'll be peddling my vinyl of course, but it's a bigger thing than that.. Get down to your local record shop if you want to be part of it, it will be a blast.
It is a fairly exciting and diverse discography: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tchad_Blake Didn't he work on Last Guitar too?
Wiki? If you create a Wiki account you could edit entry on Tchad's [how do you pronounce that in Czech? :>] page to include our Nicolas? Also update Nicks page? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Harper Andy x
Yeah got a couple of copies ... got 'em signed ... one has gone straight into my drawer and probably will never be seen again ( don't have a record player - and ain't gonna start down that road again ), but at least the other will get played eventually, when it makes its way up north to another Chris in Preston.
If anyone is wanting a copy and live anywhere near Preston, then I know that Action Records (http://www.actionrecords.co.uk/) have some copies left. These are available over the counter now ... or will be available via mail order from Saturday.
I started doing work on Nick's page a few months ago - must continue with that. Thanks for the kick in the bum Andy
Reasonably priced copies on Ebay I have no connection to this seller, but you can't do much better than this price-wise (£9.99) if you still need a copy  http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380633647269
