Thanks Chris/ Paula, I've registered for the shop and managed to buy it. Chris I know you're joking about the price, but you didn't have £2.50 P&P. Colin
Riven Art [ From www.harperspace.com ] Riven Art The artwork for the new CD is..wiiiiiiiide. If you need constant access to the brilliant artwork by Fal and the lyrics that I pored over for at least an hour and 15 minutes, you might find the fold out panorama drama leads to rippage and tearage in the long run. So we're offering a chance to download a replacement cover that you can print out your beautiful selves and save the booklet from the ravages of repeated insertion/removal from the jewel case. If there is enough interest we will do a poster with the art and lyrics in a larger format, posh paper etc., but for now the download is http://harperspace.com/nick-harper-downloads.html.
Ah... that's nice. I'm still playing and working my through the album, in order, shuffled, on my commute to work etc... Riven is a good title for the album, and the track itself sits where it should  There's a theme, and food for thought... I'm still going on with this, there's a lot to take in.
On first play through gotta say I'm a bit disappointed. This is not an easy listen. It feels like Nick is trying too hard but there are no "Beautiful" songs here. Maybe its a grower.
Hey all, back from the States and really meaning to post more thoughts on this album, but in the meantime Tom Robinson played "There Never Was" on his 6 Music show last night (Sat 5/10) and seems really excited about Riven - so YAY! The pertinent bit starts about 27 minutes in... http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03c8ls7 Plus, in other exciting internet news, Riven is now up for download on Nick's brand new Bandcamp page http://nickharper.bandcamp.com/
Found a blog review: http://somediurnalauralawe.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/nick-harper-riven.html Marko started a discussion about Riven on my FB page - will see if he minds my copying his post here (can't remember if he's on this board?)...
