bigchris Aye lad, I knew you had it in you

Avebury walk is now only 15K ?

That's a good and bad thing .... Good means I don't have to do as much training AND there's more chance that I'll be able to drag some of my mates along; the Bad is that I'll be embarrassed to ask for sponsorship for dong a walk that's just over 9 miles in length !!

Well, I'm gonna just say 15k cos that sounds more impressive ;) It's still a long way to walk and more than double last year :D

A few more added - and the comedy festival date sounds like a good'un! I may have to check that out (went to a gig and a comedy festival broke out :p )

And yet more - with the Scottish dates moved to July (possibly after Avebury?)...

Just noticed that Nick is playing a gig up north on Sunday 20th April ... which is Easter ... which is also the day that I ( as well as a few others ) thought he would be in Marlborough for the Record Store Day, releasing Riven on Vinyl ?!?! Perhaps Marlborough will join the rest of the world and actually have their Record Store Day on the correct day this year, which is the Saturday 19th April ?!?!

    Ta !

Well because Nick said ( many moons ago ) that Tommy was a big influence to him and the fact that some of my mates up north, bang on about Tommy all of the time, I thought I should at some point see him. I saw him last year, but he just didn't do it for me ... yes he's an exceptional guitarist, but the overall atmosphere of the gig left me a bit bored ( especially after the medley of Beatles tunes ! ) ... so much so I went home at the interval.

Can sympathize, there's certainly killer guitarists I find a bit dull. YMMV :p
Now, Tilbrook is a god

Booked tickets for The Cellars, can't believe I had to buy from a tout, I mean booking agent.

That's a pain... I see the ticket pick-up is a bit restricted. I go via the venues if I can at all, but not always possible

Well I too bought a ticket yesterday for the Cellars gig via ticketweb, but I'd actually prefer to use ticketweb than a venue; because they already have my details and I trust their process i.e. never had an issue with them and on that ticket they only charged an extra £1.25, but most venues would charge you that anyway. I have more confidence in using ticketweb, than a venue that I know very little about.

To be honest, they would probably have some left on the door on the night but you pay £2.00 extra for that!

As far as I can tell the Budleigh Guitar Festival this past weekend was cancelled - noted that above!

Most of the autumn tour dates are now up! As well as more information on the Scottish TBCs in July

Please note: the Hurst Green gig has been moved to Sunday 27 July - go and bring friends!!

Utopian I've got a zappy little nappy

Went to 'Club 85' in Hitchin for the first time for Nick's gig on Friday 23rd. Wow!! Great gig (no surprises there) but a surprisingly good venue hidden above an ordinary-looking pub. Local musicians played support, and the gig was intimate and connected. I loved the way he played around with the songs, adding layers of complexity...wonderful! If Nick can get back there in the future, I strongly recommend anyone within driving distance to check it out.
