    Is now out.

I recorded the interview with John a few weeks ago, before things went crazy on the media front. Having listened back to it I realise we hardly talked about Roy at all. Oops :) Anyway I hopefully made up for it a bit with my emotional enthusiasm near the start of the podcast.

I'm going to try to get another one out before the RFH gig, and it will be featuring in interview with a mystery guest who is a poster on these very forums...

Perfect timing. I'm at home feeling sorry for myself while I try to fend off all manner of fever and germs, thinking "if it's Quincey I'll watch but if it's Murder She Wrote, I will start self-harming". This podcast provided an excellent diversion. Thanks once again for your hard work. Now back to the medication.

I echo ur enthusiasm, lets hope all this media coverage means that Roy is not music's best kept secret anymore. All down to Roy's love songs, but Roy's angry songs are even better.

    Make Love not War!

I decided I'd better not make any comments on this podcast since I've been quoted in the comment sections of the last two podcasts... Ooops!

(I don't want it to seem like I'm trying to take over the podcast.:D)

Anyway... I recognized friends in college who had Grateful Dead tape collections of over 200 in the late 1970's. And I thought John was terrific bringing up all the changes and dilemmas about gigging and money that are always on my mind. I think you Brits do a great job having the smaller festivals where you can really discover new artists. We Yanks are always over-the-top with big names... At least nowadays we get to see all sorts of acts almost every day on the Noon News, but only for three minutes!

I dig Roy's "angry" songs too, but it's kind of cool if new fans discover his "Love" songs first. We're tired of all the fighting going on!

    Great job, Paul!

I've just started ( again ) to listen to the podcasts - its just that the only time I listen to CDs/music is in the car ... and my car dunt play MP3s ... so I never seem to get time to listen to the podcasts .... but as I'm "working" from home at the mo ... I've managed to get two of them in today ( working backwards - 35 then 34 ).

Really great to hear Jon talk about SOL - I will make it back there one of these years; but it's just that we've seem to have cut down on the festivals at the moment.

Yeah and one thing you didn't mention ... though I know these Roy gigs are now "ten to a penny" but I thought you might have mentioned the fact that he headlined the Clonakilty Guitar Festival a couple of days before you released the podcast !?! That was an amazing gig ... and I did think that the RFH couldn't beat it ... but how wrong I was ... though they were of course so very different gigs !! It's been a great year ... I can't remember the last time, I've been able to say that I've seen 3 Roy gigs in one year - obviously not like the good old days, when it was 3 a week ... but a few years back, I NEVER thought I'd see Roy so much in one year - bring on 2012 !!!!

Three brilliant gigs and each with a distinctly different atmosphere due to the varied "staging"of them. It has been a good "Roy" year as far as I'm concerned. Did he not do a small spot at Debarra's (Sitting Room Sessions?) in the summer as well? That might have been the best of the lot for all I know but I wasn't there to witness it.

I'm sure there were a couple of b&w photos on Faceache at the time, along with with several comments about Roy's knitwear. Either that or I've been eating too much cheese at bedtime again.
