I've been using the Recent Posts link to catch up on any developments on this site, only to discover that various forum postings have been happening that don't appear on the recent posts page. Could you get the forums linked in to that page so that there would be one place where we could identify all recent activity and jump straight to it?

That's not possible at the moment.

On reflection (and seeing how unhelpful my last reply was!). The trouble is that the forums are completely separate from the drupal software used to drive the main site; the integration that's here at the moment is a module by a third party that I'm using and it doesn't provide for "recent posts" integration in the way you want. I don't have much time to work on any coding for that.

I have, however, enabled the RSS feeds module in the forum. Go to http://www.stormcock.net/vb/external.php and if you have a modern browser or other RSS feed reader that should help you keep up to date?

    Cheers

    Paul.

    RSS Feed

I'm using Mozilla Firefox 1.5.012. I followed the link you provided and got a page of xml, complete with al the tags etc. My browser stated that there was no style information associated with the xml page. How do I view it so that it makes sense?

if you bookmark it in "Bookmarks Toolbar Folder" (which is usually in the Bookmarks dropdown menu by default) it should be more managable, or else update your firefox - I'm on 2.0.0.6 and the link above is displayed in a perfectly readable format.

i use netvibes for rss feeds - its dead handy.

Suggest you update to Firefox 2.0 and try again...

    Firefox Upgrade

That seems to have done the trick. Thanks for al your hard work.

    Bob:)

I've also added a "Forum Info" panel to the main page (this is included in the drupal->vb bridge module I'm using) which I hope will make it more obvious to people when there is new forum activity.

    Forum info

That does the trick nicely, though the process of getting to the actual messages and responding seems a bit laboured. Presumably this is a function of Drupal?
