The Royal Festival Hall (London) is advertising a gig by Roy on Tuesday 22nd Oct. Tix on sale to RFH members tomorrow.
Hopefully no need for the question mark !!? Have spoken to venue twice and they confirmed that it's happening, tickets go on sale to members at 10:00am tomorrow, then on general sale on Thursday.
Aye I know, I'd had a few beers last night so I'm not really sure why I posted that! Must have been the excitment of seeing the announcement - I can't even go to London so it's completely irrelevant. Hopefully I'll be off to Manchester. Am really looking forward to the prospect of new material live, and with the orchestra. Can't wait.
Fortunately didn't need membership - still some decent seats left this morning when I booked and thankfully they weren't disappearing before my eyes like for the 70th booking. What *fun* that was. :biggrinjester: The poor guy in the booking office couldn't understand how I'd managed to book tickets a day early on that one, with a bit of creative shopping basket skullduggery...:tongue_smilie:
Blimey! One of my current fave raves Fay Hield is at Colston the same night as Roy, singing with various other notables. Perhaps I can sneak in during Roy's interval. http://www.colstonhall.org/whatson/Event3514
This was tweeted by Led Zeppelin News the other day: "Tickets are on sale for Roy Harper's London show in October, and there's a possibility of Jimmy Page joining him on stage. We'll be there."
That's a pity that was tweeted, because if people go just on the off chance that Jimmy plays and he doesn't then they'll be disappointed ! These dates are Roy dates, promoting his first CD for yonks - and the crowd should be full of Roy fans enjoying the whole gig and not Led Zep fans waiting for the odd tit-bit. Yeah it was amazing to see Jimmy at Roy's 70th gig & it would be great to see him again, but I won't feel cheated if he doesn't turn up !!
Summer of love Seeing Roy three times this year is a first for me! [Well apart from his multiple appearances at Clonakilty]. London, Bristol & Devon. A veritable Harper summer/autumn! A x
I agree with Chris. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Zeppelin fan, I got into Roy by being curious who they were singing about on LZ3. I would love to see Jimmy and Roy again, but I'm not going to London anyway. Roy's popularity seems to have grown and grown in recent years, so hopefully he can sell out all 3 shows withouts rumours of who may or may not be there.
