fantastic, just booked two tickets and the flight from Munich to Cork.
i always wanted to get the DeBarras experience.
now there is a good weeks holiday to plan in southern Ireland.
any suggestions, especially where to stay in or near Clonakilty?

bigchris Aye lad, I knew you had it in you

I can't comment on the actual campsite, but they also have a B&B ... which I can 100% NOT recommend ... probably one of the worst I've ever stayed in !!

But, it depends on how long you will be in clon for and whether you want accomodation in staggering distance of DeBarras !?

Best Self Catering propeties available from http://www.clonamarketing.com/

Central Hotel wise; myself and at least 3 other guys I know are staying at http://odonovanshotel.com/ - very friendly and about a 30 seconds walk from DeBarras - BUT if you stay there on a Friday night ( & maybe a Saturday night in the summer ) - don't expect to be able to get an early night in bed, as they also run the towns only real night club !!

If you are a lot more flush than us and don't mind getting a taxi, then the hotel on the beach is the place to be ( it's where the Liverpool FC squad stayed when they played locally a couple of years back ) : http://www.inchydoneyisland.com/

Finally a B&B that is just out of town is "Melrose B&B" : http://www.melrosewestcork.com/ - I've never stayed there myself, but did have a few beers with the owner a couple of years back and he gave me his card.

There are loads of other B&B's and at least 4 more hotels in the town, but if you need any more info, just ask.

Another hotel up a steep hill eh?

Don't send him to the Green Man's abode over the sea of Rossmore! He'll go nuts!
