He was close up, I was upstairs and could see him I think right of the stage aiming mostly at mark  yes they were loud even from up there. I will try to put some kind of review together with my other half over the weekend, but Ive only just got back from a mercy dash to lancaster to bring an ill daughter back from Uni and need to do other stuff first.
Oh, hope ill daughter soon becomes well daughter and she's not too bad. Good mum to the rescue, eh! Yeah, Simon would aim at him. I could tell you a funny story about the two of them, but I don't think I better! I am so not looking forward to 3 supports tonight - me who barely manages one! I shall do a bit of 3DM, a bit of Alabama - just to see if they're as bad as people are saying - and then...home! I only have to get a bit of everything bar the Levs as I am officially reviewing (yeah, me for a change!) for Music-News. The smoking will be the other thing. I shall probably miss half the night anyway through quick dashes for the exit.
Alabama 3 are GENIUS, you might actually like them! And if you have a press pass, then you might get a smoke, but the Academy venues are now notorious for telling people they need to buy a new ticket to leave for a cig...
Oh, I know they are - done them with Nick and The Twang. I usually manage although still not able to sneak drink out to go with! I was told it was okay in the dressing rooms here, but I doubt it. Could be a few smoke alarms going off tonight! Well, from what I have heard A3 haven't been that hot these nights...?
Brilliant show and visuals. A3 - too country for me, wasn't impressed. 3DM - a bit disappointed; expected more, although they did only have a quarter of the audience in at the time they were on. Dreadzone - fantastic! Stars of the night. A worthy opener to the Levs in their own right. That's my kind of music. To be honest, if an announcement had been made that the Levs weren't appearing and Dreadzone were doing another 2 hours, there'd have been no complaints from me! Levellers? They were okay. No, they were much more than that: brilliant. A stunning finale to the 3 nights. Good to briefly meet Mia at the bar. And Linda, of course, for fun company! Even if she had been chatting up Levs' fiddler Jon Sevink's (and it's not pronounced SEV-ink either I learnt tonight, but SAY-vink; it's Dutch! Thanks Pete) cousin., who I just elbowed out of the way (well he was in my spot) and Charlie's brother- ha! And everyone was smoking in the bar afterwards and running the gauntlet of the staff, which was quite funny! Most of whom were smoking nefarious substances - shocking! Dim - were you here? Only there was a guy at stage door beforehand I just for some reason thought might have been you, but I couldn't remember your real name, and I thought saying to some stranger 'Are you dim?' might not have been considered polite.

Eh? I must have missed that! :confused1: [thinks] Oh, I know what you mean. If ever there was a case of making something out of nothing, that's it! Typical 'PR', never let the truth get in the way of a good rumour! And, when in doubt, exaggerate Simon
I didn't see you! Were you in the bar upstairs afterwards or at Jamm? Just as an adjunct to, er, nothing in particular, but related to the Levs and other artists of that ilk (ie 3DM): why do they keep going 'hey!' every so often in their songs? Mark does it in A Life Less... and then when I saw the Monkeys they do the same and Neck did. Is this some folk/punk thing that I am not aware of?
I was downstairs near the front to the right for the gig. Outside walking back to the hotel in the rain after the gig !
We were behind you then! Same side, half way back. Are you there on 30th? And for all the girls, Simon will be posting some more gorgeous shots of the guys SOON I hope!
Lots of lovely Levs dates added to 2008 - if you're in Scotland or Scandinavia. http://www.levellers.co.uk
Great name for a festy, Big in Falkirk... well that's not difficult It's like being big in Japan except being a lot smaller LOL. Now, Connect, that's supposed to be a kickass festival - was sorry I missed the Beasties and the Mary Chain there last year...
Anyone along for this from here? Or just me - again. Good cause. And Tony Benn - Katrina, still think LHS should get him involved with something. He's certainly been an inspiration to me with how he's coped with CLL - and a few more surprises.
