Who knows? No one appears to be making any comment, it was said that the persecution had 2 weeks to make a decision on a retrial, that time has long expired. It did seem a very flimsy case going by what was reported so why it's taking all this time is a bit baffling.
I thought I read that the CPS had requested a mention hearing - A case will be listed for mention in the Crown Court if there is something that one of the parties wants the judge to rule on before the trial has started. Can't remember where I read this but I did some poking around as there seems to be a complete black hole of any info on what is happening. On InCourts.co.uk I found the updates for the main trial (last line of which below) and the mention (all 3 lines listed). No outcomes, just the schedule. And no entries after the 26th March. Hoping this is now the end of this and we will hear from Roy again soon. 06/02/2015 Fri, Trial (Part Heard) - Hearing finished for ROY HARPER - 16:04 at Court: 1 26/03/2015 Thu, For Mention (All Parties to Attend) - Resume - 13:50 at Court: 1 26/03/2015 Thu, For Mention (All Parties to Attend) - Case Started - 13:58 at Court: 1 26/03/2015 Thu, For Mention (All Parties to Attend) - Hearing finished for ROY HARPER - 14:28 at Court: 1
Just read there will be a retrial on Nov 30th but i cannot find anything to back up this persons claims. i think if there wasnt going to be one we would of heard something by now.
Where did you read it JonDoe? I've done a bit of searching this morning and found nothing. What a saga. I only hope the right outcome results.
In court now, listed as preparatory hearing. Let's hope it gets sorted soon, the stress doesn't bare thinking about.
Reading between the lines of that which is redacted and not, the case was adjourned again at 3.30 yesterday with no resumption date listed. There was also a hearing for all parties on 26th March suggesting this is being done without publicity.
Searching the web is a waste of time if your looking for any news, anyone here heard anything, anything on how Roy is doing.
All allegations dropped... about fecking time too. http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/...ed-historical-sexual-abuse-angry-court-battle http://www.droitwichadvertiser.co.uk/news/13973707.Singer_Roy_Harper_tells_of_three_year__quot_nightmare_quot__after_court_battle/
I know how emotional I've been about this so what Roy and Tracy have been through is beyond imagination.
Agreed. Legal costs are insanely high too and I really feel for Roy and Tracy, I have heard of people copping a plea simply to have something left in the bank when they get out!!!
A terrible ordeal but what a relief it must be. Hopefully it will all add to a wider aknowledgment that you can't just turn people's lives upside down like that
I urge you to all visit the complaints part of the BBC News website to get coverage of the acquittal proportionate to that which was given to the charges in November 2013. I am sickened that the BBC have failed to even mention this so far, despite the TV News, Radio and websites giving (what I perceived was quite reasonable) coverage of the initial arrest and subsequent charges
Belatedly... and on BBC Hereford & Worcester's pages, though there is a link from the BBC News' "Entertainment" home page: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hereford-worcester-34774752
When the charges were first laid, I heard the news on Radio 5 and there was a link to the article from BBC News front page. The same should happen now
The media are always keen to name and shame, forgetting innocent until proven guilty. Surely in cases like this, the criminal who makes false allegations should now be named, shamed and prosecuted?
